Chiropractic Care

Non Surgical Spinal Decompression works by decompressing the injured disc of your spine, leading to a negative pressure within the disc. This technology is quite advanced because we can target the exact discs which are causing your problem.

The DRX9000.

If you are suffering with chronic lower back pain or chronic neck pain, you may benefit from a surgical alternative known as non surgical decompression therapy. Discover the DRX9000.

Over time, whether there is injury or neglect, the spinal discs in our back begin to degenerate, very similar to a garden not getting water. When this happens, the discs become weak, and can tear causing a herniation.

If these disc injuries are not corrected, continued degeneration occurs until the disc becomes arthritic leading to symptoms such as back pain, leg pain, sciatica and even neuropathy.

Non Surgical Spinal Decompression using the DRX9000 works by gently distracting these injured discs so as to allow nutrients to be brought back into the disc. Once this occurs, natural healing processes can occur.

How Decompression Works.

Non Surgical Spinal Decompression works by gently decompressing the injured disc of your spine, leading to a negative pressure within the disc. The technology is quite advanced because we can target specific discs which are causing your problem.

The DRX9000 has the capability to treat only those injured discs, leaving other discs alone.

Essentially, this negative pressure creates a vacuum like effect which reduces the herniation. The reduction of the herniation leads to a reduction in pressure off the nerve root. Once this is stabilized, your back pain or leg pain symptoms will be alleviated.

The Process.

Once your case is evaluated and treatment will begin the following steps are initiated. On your first visit you will meet each of our staff and you will be instructed on what is going to happen during treatment that day, and you will also be educated on what you should and should not be doing at home to help your recovery process.

When you start treatment on the DRX9000, you will be fitted with an upper and lower harness. Then, you will stand upright against the machine bed, while our staff slowly lowers you to a more flatten position. If you have trouble lying on your back, don’t worry. This position will be temporary as we provide a knee booster prior to treatment commencing. While on the DRX9000 the specialized computer-controlled table relaxes you. Treatment takes 20-30 minutes, and your treatment plan will be customized to your individual needs and symptoms.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Who Qualifies For Spinal Decompression?

Non-surgical spinal decompression(DRX9000) is appropriate for individuals who are over the age of 18 and have persistent or recurrent pain.  If you have degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, bulging discs, or have failed back surgery syndrome, you may qualify for this treatment.

How Long Does The Treatment Take?

The treatments typically take between 20-30 minutes and you will have these sessions for several weeks.  Depending on your progress, we may decrease these sessions as the pain or condition decreases.

When Will I See Results?

If you choose non-surgical spinal decompression for your condition, you may start to feel a reduction in your symptoms and pain within the first week.  A more notable change is typically felt in the second week of your care plan, depending naturally on your condition.

Chiropractic Care

Thoughtful care built around how you move and feel.

Chiropractic care at Modern Spine Health and Injury Care begins with an individual evaluation. The goal is to understand your symptoms, movement and musculoskeletal findings before recommending an appropriate conservative care plan.

Evaluation first. Treatment second.

Rather than assuming every patient needs the same approach, care should be based on the history, examination findings and the individual patient's needs.

Individualized Care recommendations begin with your specific symptoms and examination findings.
Conservative Chiropractic care is a non-surgical approach to musculoskeletal complaints.
Integrated When appropriate, chiropractic care may be considered alongside other services offered by the practice.

A Patient-Specific Approach

Start by understanding the problem.

Chiropractic care focuses on the musculoskeletal system, including the spine and the way joints and surrounding tissues move and function.

An appropriate evaluation can help identify areas of restricted motion, tenderness, stiffness or other findings that may be contributing to a patient's complaint.

The specific care provided should depend on the individual patient rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Not every condition is managed the same way.

If another type of evaluation or care appears more appropriate, that should be discussed as part of the clinical decision-making process.

What To Expect

A clear process from evaluation to care.

The purpose of the first visit is to understand what you are experiencing and determine what type of conservative care, if any, may be appropriate.

01

History

Discuss your symptoms, when they began, what aggravates them and how they are affecting your normal activities.

02

Examination

Evaluate movement and musculoskeletal findings relevant to the areas that are bothering you.

03

Recommendations

Discuss whether chiropractic care or another treatment option offered by the practice may fit your individual presentation.

Common Reasons Patients Seek Care

Musculoskeletal complaints can look different from person to person.

Neck Discomfort

Neck stiffness, limited motion or discomfort may warrant evaluation to help determine what structures and movement patterns are involved.

Back Pain

Low back or mid-back complaints can have different causes, so examination findings help guide whether conservative chiropractic care is appropriate.

Joint & Movement Complaints

Patients may seek care for stiffness or movement-related discomfort involving the spine or other musculoskeletal areas.

After An Auto Accident

Following a motor vehicle collision, an evaluation can help identify musculoskeletal complaints and determine whether chiropractic care may be part of an appropriate care plan.
